Measuring converters that convert linear or angular displacements into electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or other signals suitable for recording, long-distance transmission or further conversion. Capacitive sensors, inductive sensors, transformers, resistance, string, photoelectric, jet, induction and electric sensors, and coding disks can all be used as displacement sensors.
There is a difference between small displacement (from a few microns to a few centimeters) and large displacement (from tens of centimeters to a few meters). Greater displacement is measured by a walking sensor. The maximum sensitivity for small displacement measurements is provided by photoelectric sensors, capacitive sensors, and some types of inductive sensors. The displacement associated with the deformation of a mechanical component is measured by a strain gauge, which usually has an amplifier.
